Air Transportation
Regularly scheduled airlines provide the most flexibility and availability of flights. Mexicana Airlines, AeroMexico, Delta, Continental, American and others provide service to the Yucatan. Major car rental companies and government-regulated taxis are at the airports.

From the Merida International Airport to
Celestun is about 90 kilometers (56 miles) west on the western shore of a small peninsula. Public transportation is offered several times a day from Merida. It is only a hour drive from Merida if you have a car. Rentals are available in Cancun or Merida at the airport. Celestun is the only village in a wildlife and flamingo preserve.
